　ザクロのき と リンゴのき と オリーブのき が、それぞれ じぶん の み の おいしさ を じまん しあって いました。
　The pomegranate, apple-tree, and olive-tree were boasted about deliciousness of his fruit with each other.

　おたがい に ゆずりあわない ので、だんだん はげしく いいあらそう よう に なりました。
　However, each of them is too proud of his fruit, their argument was getting heated.

　それを、ちかく で きいていた イバラ が、
　When a bramble in a nearby hedge heard them, he said,

「みなさん、ケンカ は やめましょう」
“dear friends, why don’t you stop your argument?”

と、いさめました。
to settle them down.



　これと おなじ よう に、にんげん の あいだ でも えらいひとたち が あらそって いる とき には、とる に たりない ひと が えらそう に ふるまう もの です。
　Similar to this story, when there is an argument among great people, a worthless person try to act important.
