　ハイエナ は、いちねんおき に メス に なったり、オス に なったり する どうぶつ だと いわれています。
　It is said that hyena transform themselves into males or females every other year.



　あるひ、オス の ハイエナ が、メス の ハイエナ に ひどい しうち を しました。
　One day a male hyena did an awful disservice to a female hyena.

　メス は、くやしがって、
　The female hyena said,

「こんな こと を するなら、おぼえていなさい。
”You have to know what you've done to me.

　もうじき あなた も、おなじ め に あう こと に なるのだから」
　You'll be given a taste of your own medicine sometime soon.”



　じぶん が もうじき、その かかり に つく こと が わかっている ひと が、
　If you are given a hard time by those who are in the position that you are to be in shortly,

　いま、その かかり に ついている ひと から いじめられた とき は、この はなし を すると よいでしょう。
　you may as well tell this story.

　もちろん、ほんとう の ハイエナ は
　As a matter of course, real hyenas

　メス と オス が かわったり しません。
　do not transform themselves into males or females.
