　にひき の カエル が、ぬま に すんでいました。
　Two frogs were living in a pond.

　ところ が なつ の ひでりつづき の ために、ぬま の みず が すっかり かれて しまった ので、
　However, a long spell of dry weather in the summer totally dried out the pond.

　そこを はなれて ほか の ぬま を さがしに いきました。
　So they decided to leave the pond and look for another one.

　やがて、ひとつ の ふかい いど が みつかりました。
　Soon, one deep well was found.

　すると いっぴき の カエル が、
　One frog suggested,

「きみ、この いど に いっしょ に おりよう」
“Let’s go down to the bottom of this well together.”

と、いいました。

　しかし あいて の カエル は、
　However, the other frog asked,

「でもね、もし この いど の みず が かれてしまった とき には、どうやって あがってくれば いいんだい？」
“But how can we come up when this well dries out?”



　この おはなし は、なにごと も かんがえなし に こうどう しては いけない こと を おしえています。
　This story tell us that whatever we do, we should not act without thinking.
