「おなか が すいたよう」
“I'm starving...”

と、キツネ が もり の なか を あるいて いました。
　A fox was talking to himself, and walking in the woods.

　すると、おいしそうな ブドウ が ブドウだな から たくさん ぶらさがって いました。
　In the meanwhile he found plenty of bunches of grapes hanging from the grapevine trellis.

　キツネ は、なんとかして とってやろう と おもいました。
　The fox managed to get some of them,

　でも ブドウだな は たかくて、どうしても て が とどきません。
　but the grapevine trellis was too high for him to reach out.

　すると キツネ は、
　After a while, the fox said to himself,

「ふん。あの ブドウ は、まだ すっぱいのさ」
“Well, those grapes are still sour.”

と、ひとりごと を いって、どこか へ いって しまいました。
　Then he left from the grapevine trellis, and went somewhere.



　にんげん にも、じぶん の ちから が たりなくて できない こと を、こんな ふう に ごまかす ひと は いますね。
　As with this fox, there are also people who would act in the same way to the things that they cannot handle because of their inadequacy.
