　はじめて どろぼう に はいる どろぼう が、おっかなびっくり と を あけて いえ の なか に はいってみますと、なんと この いえ は あきや でした。
　A thief fearfully sneaked into a house for the first time and found that this house was empty.

　なりたて の どろぼう は、ホッ と むね を なでおろし、
　The novice thief felt relieved and thought,

「ああっ、よかった、よかった。これなら つかまる しんぱい は ない」
“Whew! How lucky I am! There’s no worry about getting caught.”


　たしかに あきや なら、どろぼう することは できません。
　The thief is right. If the house is empty, there’s nothing to steal.
