　くまさん と はちっあん が、ひと の わるぐち を いっています と、おしゃべりな たけさん に きかれて しまいました。
　When Kuma and Hachi were speaking ill of others, Take overheard the conversation.

　こまった、くまさん と はちっあん は、
　Kuma and Hachi found that a problem and said,

「おめえ は、とんでもなく おしゃべりな やつ だが、なんとか これで、だまっていて くんな」
“We know you’ve got a big mouth, but can you not tell anyone for this?”

と、たけさん に ぜに を やる と、たけさん は、ポン と むね を たたいて、
　When they gave money to Take, he pounded his chest and said,

「ぜに を もらった からにゃ、くち が さけたって、しゃべりませんぜ」
“Now that I accepted your money, my lips are sealed no matter what.”

と、かえって いきました。
　Then he left.



　そのひ の、まよなか、くまさん の いえ の と を たたく もの が あります。
　At midnight, someone was knocking Kuma’s door.

　おきて みると、なんと、たけさん が と の そと に たっているでは ありませんか。
　When he got up, he found Take standing outside of the door.

「どうした？　いまごろ、なん の ようだい？」
“What happened? What are you doing here so late?”

　すると、たけさん は、
　Then Take answered,

「うん、じつは、ひるま もらった ぜに を かえし に きたんだ。あれから ずーっと、しゃべりたくて、ねむれやしねぇ」
“Well, to tell you the truth, I’m here to return the money that you gave me this afternoon. I can’t sleep because I’m desperate to tell someone about what you guys were talking about.”



　おしゃべり とは、こんな もの です。
　A person with a big mouth can never keep his mouth shut.
