　つち で できた つぼ と どう の つぼ が、かわ を ながされて いきました。
　A clay pot and a copper pot were floating down the river.

　つち の つぼ は どう の つぼ に、
　The clay pot said to the copper pot,

「ぼく の そば に よらないで くれ、はなれて およいで くれよ。
“Don’t come close to me. Please swim away.

　ぼく の ほう から ちかよる き が なくても、きみ に ぶつかられたら、ぼく は こなごな に なってしまうん だから」
　I don’t wish to come near you, because if you bump into me, I will break into pieces.”



　たちば の よわいひと が、よくばり で いばった ゆうりょくしゃ の そば に すむ と、あんしん して くらせません。
　A person in a vulnerable position cannot live in peace near a powerful and greedy man.
