Goldilocks and The Three Bears

　むかしむかし、おんなのこ が もり で あそんで いると、とおく に いえ が みえた ので いってみました。
　Once upon a time, a girl was playing in the woods and noticed a house far off in the distance.

　その いえ は、さんびき の クマ の おやこ が すむ いえ でした。
　That house was lived in by a family of three bears.

　トントントン。
　Knock, knock.

　ドア を たたいても へんじ が ない ので、おんなのこ は そっと なか に はいりました。
　Even though she knocked on the door, there came no reply , so the girl quietly went in.

  だいどころ の テーブル の うえ に、おおきい おわん と、ちゅうくらい の おわん と、ちいさい おわん が ありました。
　On the kitchen table there lay a large bowl, a medium bowl, and a small bowl .

　どの おわん にも スープ が 入っていたので、おんなのこ は ひとくち ずつ のんでみました。
　Since soup was in every bowl, she decided to try some from each.

「ちいさな おわん の スープ が、いちばん おいしいわ」
"The soup from the smallest bowl is the most delicious."

　おなか が すいていた おんなのこ は、ちいさい おわん の スープ を、すっかり のんで しまいました。
　The girl ,who was incredibly hungry then ate up all the soup from the smallest bowl.

　いま には、イス が みっつ ありました。
　There were three chairs in the living room.

　おおきい イス は、たかすぎます。
　The large chair was too high.

　ちゅうくらい の イス は、すわりごこち が よく ありません。
　The medium sized chair was not comfortable.

　ちいさい イス は、おんなのこ に ピッタリ です。
　But the small sized chair was perfect for the girl.

　ゆらして あそんでいたら、
　While rocking in the chair,

　ドシン！
　CRACK!

　イス が こわれて、おんなのこ は しりもち を ついて しまいました。
　The chair broke and the girl landed on her bottom.

　となり の へや には、ベッド が みっつ ありました。
　There were three beds in the next room.

　おおきい ベッド は ひろすぎるし、ちゅうくらい の べッド は かたすぎます。
　the big bed was too wide, the middle sized bed was too hard.

「ちいさい ベッド は、ちょうど いいわ」
"Oh! The small bed is just right."

　おんなのこ は ちいさい ベッド に もぐりこんで、ねむって しまいました。
　The girl dived into the small bed and fell asleep.



　しばらく すると、さんびき の クマ が かえって きました。
　After a while, the three bears came back home.

「おや、わし の スープ を のんだのは、だれだ？」
"Hey! Who has been eating my soup?"

「まあ、わたし の スープ を のんだのは、だあれ？」
And who has been eating my soup too?"

　おとうさんグマ と おかあさんグマ が、うなりました。
　Growled Mother and Father bear together.

　ちびグマ が、なきごえ で いいました。
　Then the baby bear cried out.

「あーん、だれか が ぼく の スープ を、のんじゃった！」
"And someone has eaten up all my soup !"

　いま に いく と、
　After entering the living room

「おや、わし の イス に すわった のは、だれだ？」
"Hey! Who has been sitting in my chair?"

「まあ、わたし の イス に すわった のは、だあれ？」
"Well. Someone has been sitting in my chair too."

　おとうさんグマ と おかあさんグマ が、うなりました。
　Growled Mother and Father bear together.

　そして、ちびグマ は、
　Then the small bear said.

「わーん、だれか が ぼく の イス を、こわしちゃったあ！」
"And someone has broken my chair!"

と、なきだしました。
　And began to cry.

　さんびき の クマ は、となり の へや に いってみました。
　The three bears, then went to the next room to see.

「おや、わし の ベッド に ねたのは、だれだ？」
"Oh! Who has been sleeping in my bed?"

「まあ、わたし の べッド に ねたのは、だあれ？」
"And, who has been sleeping in my bed too?"

　おとうさんグマ と おかあさんグマ が、うなりました。
　Growled Mother and Father bear together.

　ちびグマ が、さけびました。
　Then baby bear shouted out.

「みて！　ぼく の ベッド に、だれか が いるよ」
"LOOK! Someone is sleeping in my bed."

　め を さました おんなのこ は、ビックリ。
　The girl who woke up was very surprised.

「きゃあああーっ！」
"Aaaaaaahh!"

　あわてて まど から、にげて いきました。
　Hurriedly she escaped out of the window and ran away.

One point of advice: Don’t be greedy otherwise you may get more than you bargained for.
