　赤い色は魔よけの色とされ、災いをはねのけるおまじないにされていました。
(A color of red is thought as expel evils and as a magic spell to brush off the disaster.)

・注意点(Important point.)

　父親や男兄弟にまで生理になったと知らせるのが恥ずかしいと言う女の子も多く中には「セクハラ」「性的虐待」と深刻にとらえてしまう場合もあるようなので、初潮の時にお赤飯をたいてお祝いをしていいか本人に聞いたほうが良さそうです。
(Many girls say it is embarrassing to tell their father and brothers that they’ve got their first period.  There are some cases taken seriously as sexual harassment or sexual abuse.  It is recommended that you ask the person to celebrate her with steaming Sekihan when she’s got her first period.)
