・Procedure.
　According to the good luck spell, write a “×” or “Dog” on a baby’s forehead, and the baby will be protected from evil.
　In some place of the Kansai region, when “Omiya-mairi’ (a Shinto ritual similar to the Christian baptism) takes place, they write a “Big” on a baby boy’s forehead and a “Small” on a baby girl’s forehead.

・Important point.
　In the Heian Period, this good luck spell was trendy so as to protect babies, who were born in the Imperial Court, from any evil spirits.
　In various places of the world, they have similar good luck spells.  In some country, they deliberately give a terrible name or ugly makeup to a baby so as to push evil spirits away.
