　ものおき の ゆか に、ハチミツ が こぼれて いました。
　There was some honey spilled on the floor.

　そこヘ ハエたち が とんできて、ミツ を なめ はじめました。
　Then some flies flew there and licked the honey.

　おいしくて、おいしくて、ちょっと なめた だけで、やめる き には なれません。
　It tasted so good that they couldn’t stop licking.

　むちゅう に なって なめて いる うち に、ミツ が あし に からみ ついて、とびたてなく なってしまいました。
　While enjoying the honey, their legs were stuck to the honey they couldn’t fly.

　もがけば もがくほど、ミツ が からだじゅう に ついて、しまい に いき が できなく なりました。
　The more they struggled, the more honey stuck to their bodies and they finally couldn’t breathe.

　ハエたち は、いいました。
　The flies said,

「なさけない こと だ。ひととき の たのしみ の ため に、しんで しまう なんて」
“It’s so pathetic that they died for a pleasure time.”



　この とおり、くいしんぼう は いろいろな ふこう の もと に なります。
　Thus, being a big eater might be a cause of unhappiness.

　たべすぎ、のみすぎ には、き を つけて ください。
　You shouldn’t eat or drink too much.
