　どうぶつたち の あつまり で、サル が たって ダンス を おどりました。
　At the animal gathering, the monkey got up and danced.

　たいそう みごと に おどった ので、みんな は はくしゅかっさい しました。
　His dance was splendid, and all the animal applauded his performance.

　ラクダ は それ を みて、うらやましく なりました。
　The camel then felt jealous.

「ぼく も ひとつ、みんな に ほめてもらおう」
“I would like to have a lot of praise from everyone, too.”

　ラクダ も たちあがって、ダンス を はじめました。
　The camel stood up and attempted to dance.

　けれども、それは メチャクチャ な おどり で、みられた もの では ありません。
　But his dance was awful and the animals couldn’t stand looking at his performance.

　どうぶつたち は おこって、ラクダ を たたきだして しまいました。
　So the animals grew angry and kicked him out of the gathering.



　この おはなし は、じぶん より も すぐれた ひと を うらやんで、はりあおう と する ひと を いましめています。
　This is a lesson for people who get jealous of and rival their superior.
