　ブタ と イヌ が、くちぎたく ののしりあって いました。
　A pig and a dog were viciously arguing with one another.

　ブタ が、
　The pig said,

「アフロディテ の めがみ に かけて、おまえ なんか、ばりばり くいさいて やるよ」
“In the name of Aphrodite, I would tear you into pieces with my teeth. ”

と、いいます と、イヌ は ひにくな かお で、
　Then the dog argued back with ironic face,

「ほほーう。アフロディテさま に かけて ちかう とは、あんた に しては き が きく はなし だね。
“Of course, you swear by Aphrodite. You are such a smart pig.

　たしか に、おまえさん は アフロディテ の おきにいり と みえるね。
　Indeed, I see you are one of Aphrodite’s favorite.

　あの めがみ は、おまえ の その けがらわしい にく を くった ひと は、ぜったい に じぶん の しんでん には いれない ほどだもの」
　She absolutely forbids anyone who has tasted your disgusting flesh to enter her temple.”

　すると ブタ は、
　Then the pig replied,

「それこそ、めがみ が わたし を かわいがっている しょうこ さ。
“That’s exactly the proof of her love for me.

　わたし を ころしたり、いじめたり する ひと は、ぜったい に よせつけない わけ だからね。
　She definitely keeps away anyone who has killed or teased me.

　おまえ と きたら、いきている あいだ も しんだ あと も、いやな におい を ぷんぷん させている じゃないか」
　As for you, you spread strongly foul smell in your lifetime and after your death.”



　この おはなし は、はなし の じょうず な ひと は、あいて から あびせられた わるぐち を うまく りよう して、
　This story shows a person who is good at speaking will take advantage of the curse from others

　じぶん を ほめる ことば に すりかえて しまう と いうこと を しめしています。
　to replace with compliment.
