　へたくそな かしゅ が、あさ から ばん まで いえ の なか で うたって いました。
　A poor singer had been singing at home from morning till night.

　いえ は しっかり した かべ で かこまれている ので、こえ が よく ひびきました。
　Because the house was surrounded by robust walls, which made his voice rebound beautifully,

　それで かしゅ は、じぶん が すばらしい こえ を している と おもいこみ ました。
　the singer thought he had a beautiful voice.

　すっかり うぬぼれて、とうとう げきじょう で うたう こと に しました。
　Flattering himself, he finally decided to sing at the theater.

　ところが、いざ ステージ で うたうと、あんまり へたくそ なので
　However, when he actually sang on the stage, it turned out a disaster,

　いし を ぶつけられて おいだされて しまいました。
　and audience members kicked him out of the theater by throwing stones at him.



　この かしゅ と おなじように、
　The same way as the singer,

　クラス の なか では はなしかた が じょうず だと おもわれていた ひと が、いざ おおぜい の ひと の まえ で えんぜつ すると、
　when a person, who is considered eloquent in class, has to make a speech in front of a crowd of people,

　たちまち しどろもどろ に なってしまう こと が あります。
　that could end up a disaster from time to time.
