　ある ははおや が、まだ ごくおさない むすこ の こと を、うらないし に うらなって もらいました。
　A mother asked a fortune-teller to tell her her little son's future.

「この こども は、カラス に ころされる でしょう」
“Your child will be killed by a crow.”

と、うらないし は いいました。
　The fortune-teller said.

　ビックリ した ははおや は、こども が カラス に ころされない ように とくべつな はこ を つくらせて、
　The mother was surprised to hear this, so she arranged a special box which was to keep her son in

　その なか に とじこめて しまいました。
　so as not to be killed by a crow.

　そして まいにち きまった じかん に はこ の ふた を あけて、たべもの を いれて やりました。
　The mother kept her son in the box, and opened the lid to give food.

　ところ が あるひ、
　However, one day

　ははおや が ふた を しめようと したとき、こども が うっかり あたま を はこ の そと に つきだして しまい、
　when the mother tried to close the lid, the son accidentally stuck his head out of the box,

　ふた に ついていた じょうまえ が あたま に ぶつかった ので、こども は しんで しまいました。
　and hit his head to the lock, then he died.

　その じょうまえ は、カラスじょう と よばれる じょうまえ でした。
　The lock was the one called “a crow lock.”



　この おはなし は、あさはかな かんがえ では、そう かんたん に うんめい は かえられない という おはなし です。
　This story tells us that our destiny cannot be changed easily with shallow thoughts.
