The wolf and the heron

The wolf had a bone stuck in his throat and was in pain.
He was asking around for help.
Luckily, a heron came by.
The wolf asked the heron,
“Will you take out the bone that is stuck in my throat? I will give you a reward ”
The heron put his head inside the wolf’s mouth and took out the bone.
The heron then said,
“Now give me my reward”
However, the wolf replied
“I think that you being alive is a reward enough, after all, you had your head inside my mouth.
How can you expect for more?”
You cannot expect anything in return from bad people even though you show kindness to them.
You should feel lucky if they will not treat you badly, and take that as your reward.
