　とりさし が ツル を つかまる ため に、アミ を はって とおく から みはって いました。
　The fowler prepared a snare to catch cranes and he was keep watching from distance.

　すると ツル に まじって、１わ の コウノトリ が かかりました。
　Then a stork was trapped among the cranes.

　とりさし は かけよって、ツル と いっしょ に コウノトリ も つかまえました。
　The fowler ran to the snare and he captured the stork and the cranes.

「わたし を、はなして ください！」
“Please! Let me go, sir!”

　コウノトリ は、とりさし に たのみました。
　The stork begged to the fowler.

「なぜなら わたし は ツル と ちがって、にんげん の じゃま を する どころか、ヘビ だの、トカゲ だの、いろいろな はちゅうるい を たべて、たいそう やく に たつ の ですから」
“I am not a crane. I am so far from bothering you. Instead, I shall be useful in preying snakes, lizards, or other reptile.”

　とりさし は、いいました。
　But the fowler said to him,

「もし ほんとう に おまえ が わるいやつ で ない と しても、わるいやつ と いっしょ に とんできた のだから、ばつ を うける のが とうぜん なのだ」
　“It doesn’t matter if you are good or bad, but I caught you among the bad, and you must receive punishment with your company. ”

「そんな・・・」
“No way…”



　わたしたち も、わるいやつ と つきあう のは やめましょう。
　The story shows to stay away from bad companies,

　さもない と、この かわいそう な コウノトリ の ように わるいやつ の なかま だと おもわれて、ひどいめ に あう かも しれない からです。
　otherwise you may be treated as one of the bad and you will receive the same punishment as the poor stork.
