　トビ が ヘビ を さらって、そらたかく まいあがり ました。
　A black kite snatched a snake, and then flew high up to the sky.

　ヘビ は トビ に まきついて、かみました。
　Wrapping himself around the black kite, the snake bit the black kite.

　トビ も ヘビ も、たかい そら から おちました。
　Both of them fell from the sky,

　そして、トビ は し に ました。
　and the black kite died.

　ヘビ は、しんでいく トビ に いいました。
　 The snake said to the black kite that was about to die.

「なぜ おまえ は、なに も おまえ に わるいこと を していない もの を、いじめる ような おろかな まね を した のだ？
”Why did you do such a stupid thing to the one that hasn't done anything wrong to you?

　わたし を さらった ばつ に、この とおり しぬ こと に なった じゃないか」
　That's why you're paying for it, and dying now.”



　やりたいほうだい に よわいもの いじめ を する ひと は、いつか じぶん より つよいもの に でくわして、
　This story tells us that people who bully the weak self-indulgently will eventually encounter a situation

　それまで やった わるいこと の つみほろぼし を うける こと でしょう。
　where they have to face the strong, and then pay for what they have done wrong.
