　キツネ が やくしゃ の いえ に しのびこんで、いしょう や どうぐ を かきまわし、
　A fox sneaked into an actor's house, and was messing up his clothes and accessories

　なにか よいもの は ないか と さがして いました。
　to hunt something valuable.

　そのうち、みごとな サル の おめん が でてきました。
　In the meantime, the fox found a spectacular monkey mask.

　キツネ は それ を  もちあげて、
　He picked it up and said,

「うーん、とても りっぱな サル だ。
“Well, it looks like such a spectacular monkey.

　きっと サル の おうさま だろう。
　It's probably the king of monkeys.

　・・・おや、なんだ、なか は からっぽだ」
　… What? There's nothing at the back of the mask.”

と、いって、その おめん を すてました。
　Then he threw it away.



　この おはなし は、もの の かち が わからない ひと に あてはまる おはなし です。
　This story is the one that holds true of people who do not see real value in things.
