A shepherd was looking at the calm sea while feeding his sheep grass.
“It should be better if I do business with a ship,”
he thought.
Then he loaded dates he bought by selling all of his sheep into a ship and went to the sea.
Soon, however, there was a heavy storm and his ship was almost sunken.
He somehow survived by throwing all the dates on his ship away to the sea.
After a while, a man came to the seashore as the shepherd did.
“What a calm beautiful sea,” he thought.
The sea certainly was calm at the time.
But then, the shepherd said to the man,
“You know, this sea wants to eat more dates.
That’s why it pretends to be calm.”
This story tells you that a calamity gives you a lesson.
