　むかしむかし、あるところ に、たいへん あし の はやい おとこ が いました。
　Once upon a time, there was a man runs so fast.

　あんまり あし が はやい ので、みんな から 『はしる めいじん』と よばれています。
　For that, everybody calls him “The running master “


　あるとき、『はしる めいじん』が どろぼう を おいかけて います と、むこう から ともだち が やってきました。
　One day, the running master ran into his friend while he was chasing after a burglar.

「なんだ、なんだ。そんな に あわてて どうした？」
　His friend asked him, “Hey, what’s the rush?”

と、ともだち が きく と、『はしる めいじん』は、
　The running master answered,

「じつは、どろぼう を おいかけて いるんだ」
“Actually, I’m chasing after a burglar.”

「なに！　その どろぼう は、どこだ、どこだ？」
　His friend said, “Really? And where is the burglar?”

「ほれ、うしろ から はしってくる」
“Well, looks like he is chasing after me.”



　なんと『はしる めいじん』は あまりにも あし が はやすぎて、おいかけていた どろぼう を おいぬいて しまったのでした。
　said the running master. He runs so fast that, he had already passed the burglar.
