　ネズミ に かまれた おウシ が はら を たてて、ネズミ を つかまえよう と しました。
　The bull was angry when the mouse bit him, so he tried to catch the mouse.

　しかし ネズミ は おウシ の こうげき を うまく かわして、じぶん の あな へ にげこみました。
　However, the mouse ducked all of the bulls attack and hid inside a hole.

　おウシ は じまん の つの で あな を ほりかえそう と しましたが、ネズミ の あな は おもった よりも ふかく、
　The bull tried to dig through the hole with his horn but the hole of the mouse was deeper than he expected.

　ネズミ を ひきずりだす まえ に つかれてしまい、
　The bull became tired before he could drag the mouse out

　あな の まえ に しゃがみこんで グーグー と ねてしまいました。
　and started to sleep in front of the hole.

　それを しった ネズミ は、そっと あな から でてくる と おウシ に しのびより、
　When the mouse noticed it, he came out of the hole and crept up on the bull.

　そして もういちど かみついて、すばやく あな の なか へ にげこみました。
　The mouse bit the bull again and hid in his hole.

　おウシ は ビックリ して はねおきました が、
　The bull awoke in shock

　どうして よいやら わからず に、モーモー と なく ばかり です。
　and didn’t know what to do but cry.

　すると、ネズミ が あな から あたま を だして いいました。
　The mouse then put his head out from the hole and said

「へへん。おおきければ よい とは かぎらない のさ。
“You know, it isn’t always good to have a big body.

　こと、いたずら に かけちゃ、ちいさい ほう が ずーっと ゆうり なのさ」
　This small body of mine suits me well when I play pranks.”



　たしかに、いたずら を する とき は、めだつ おおきな からだ より も ちいさい からだ の ほう が ゆうり です。
　It is true that having a smaller body is advantageous when you play prank.

　しかし、あまり ちょうし に のって いると、そのうち いたいめ に あいますよ。
　However, you may get punished if you don’t behave yourself.
