The cost of smelling grilled eel

　Once upon a time, there is a stingy man in a town.

　Every day at mealtime, the man went to the eel restaurant and took a deep breath of the smell of grilled eel with his stomach full.

　After that, he rushed home and ate rice with the smell of grilled eel.
　Then, the owner of the eel restaurant recognized his behavior.

‘What a stingy man! Right, I’ll make him pay for the smell of eel.’

　He kept accounts, and at the end of the month he went to the stingy man’s house to receive the money for the smell of eel.
　Then, the stingy man said to the owner,

‘Hey, I’ve never borrowed money from you!’

‘No, no, sir. I want you to pay for the smell of eel.’

‘Well, it costs 800 mon (About 24,000 yen).’

‘The smell gave you the feeling of eating eel, that’s why I came here to receive the money.’

　The owner said to him with a straight face. The man had no choice but took out 800 mon from his pocket.
‘Oh, thank you. I surely received 800 mon.’

　The moment the owner was going to receive the money with full of smiles, the man threw the coins on the wooden floor.

　Clink, clink.
　Clink, clink.
　He made a good sound and said to the eel owner.

‘I’ll pay by the sound of coins. You heard it, didn’t you? Go home as if you’ve already received the money.’
　 The eel master lost the game.
