と、キツネが森の中を歩いていました。
　A fox was talking to himself, and walking in the woods.

　すると、おいしそうなブドウがブドウ棚からたくさんぶら下がっていました。
　In the meanwhile he found plenty of bunches of grapes hanging from the grapevine trellis.

　キツネは、何とかして取ってやろうと思いました。
　The fox managed to get some of them,

　でもブドウ棚は高くて、どうしても手が届きません。
　but the grapevine trellis was too high for him to reach out.

　するとキツネは、
　After a while, the fox said to himself,

「ふん。あのブドウは、まだ酸っぱいのさ」
“Well, those grapes are still sour.”

と、一人言を言って、どこかへ行ってしまいました。
　Then he left from the grapevine trellis, and went somewhere.

　人間にも、自分の力が足りなくて出来ない事を、こんな風にごまかす人はいますね。
　As with this fox, there are also people who would act in the same way to the things that they cannot handle because of their inadequacy.
